Rara Lake

Rara is the biggest and the deepest freshwater lake of Nepal situated at an altitude of 2990 m. This lake drains into Mugu Karnali River via the Nijar River. Rara Lake is considered as the Jewel in Far Western Region as we can see this lake having its romantic symphony with Tibetan mountains and the pine forests. A short hike to Murmu Top will allow an overall beautiful view of Rara Lake and you will feel how lucky you are to see such a scene.

Apart from Rara Lake, the local living near the lake is very friendly and helpful. Though the guesthouse and the human settlements are not near to the lake, still lots of people visit the lake and spend their moments. This lake has been gaining popularity among the trekkers and nature lovers. They reach this awesome destination either by flight from Nepalgunj to Talcha Airport or take a private jeep ride to Rara Lake.
