Mt. Kailash and Everest Base Camp Treks is an ultimate trip over the Tibetan plateau which provides you an amazing opportunity to visit the pilgrimage site of Mt. Kailash (6714 M) as well as to the natural beauty of Himalayan Range of more than 6000m high at Everest Base Camp. Pilgrimage trek combined with the Everest base camp provides you exquisite adventure with natural, cultural and historical highlights of Tibet. Mt. Kailash lies toward the northern Himalayan range within Tibet. It is a huge black rock soaring over six thousand meters also considered as the holiest mountain among all. This is a natural, cultural and historical tour over the Tibetan plateau.
The trip continues with a sightseeing at Kathmandu valley and the scenic flight over the Himalayas of Nepal to the land of Tibet at Lhasa. Flight duration is about 1 hour and 15 minutes. You will make your way to the Kailash while visiting several thousand years old monasteries and Historical sites like Dalai lamas Potala Palace and Norbulingka Palace, Tibet Museum, Serra and Drepung Monastery, etc. Holy Mt. Kailash Chhetra where you will visit lakes called Manasarovar and Rakshyas Taal and make its Parikrama then head to Everest Base camp and back to Kathmandu. It is one of the hardest pilgrimage treks of the world as it takes you to enormous heights and very remote and hazardous trails. Today is your sightseeing day at Tibet so after breakfast, we drive out and visit Potala Palace, Norbulingka Park and Tibet Museum. Potala Palace: This huge palace was the private quarters of the Dalai Lama which was built in the 17th century. It offers great views of the entire city and houses inside which numerous grand room and chapels were built. Norbulingka Summer Palace: It used to be the summer place of Dalai Lama. It is considered as the largest man-made garden in Tibet. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site represents a unique Tibetan architectural presentation. Tibet Museum: Your final visit for today will be at the Tibet Museum. This museum has a permanent collection of thousands of artefacts associated with the ancient Tibet and its cultural history. Today will be another busy day for you as you will be taken to some of the historical sites at Tibet. The first visit will be at Ganden monastery situated at the top of Wangbur Mountain (3800 M) and explore its arts, sculptures and Murals. Then visit Drayerpa Cave in the down valley. There are several silent caves, more than 25, where Dalai Lama used to Meditate. Visit Sera Monastery (Second Largest Monastery at Tibet), Jokhang Temple (Buddhist Temple) and Drepung Monastery- the largest monastery in Tibet built in the 14th century. Gyantse lies 264 Km southwest of Lhasa which lies on the northern bank of Nyang Chu River and bears historical importance. During the 15th century it used to be a capital of a small kingdom and yet retains deep Tibetan character. The principle structures consist of a castle on a ridge overlooking the town and a walled monastic complex. Today morning you will perform religious activities like taking dip or bathing, perform Puja and other worshipping tasks of Lord Shiva and goddesses Parvati. Today is our second day of Kailash Parikrama. We explore this lake and worship activities are also conducted early in the morning. The breakfast program is held and later we trek to Chuk Gompa (4625 M) on foot. This day feels like God had opened heavens for us and let us glances inside the world of God and Goddesses. Today will be a bit tough day for you as you have to walk for 6 hours. After good breakfast, we cross a rocky expanse dotted with stone cairns draped with the clothes left as offerings by pilgrims, we encounter one of the holiest lakes of this tour i.e. Gaurikunda and the further walk takes us to Dolma-La pass (5490 M). We give rest to our tired legs at top of this Pass and enjoy lunch with vistas around. Then, we head Zutulpuk Monastery and camp there.

Today is our last day of Manasarovar Parikrama as we head to Saga. After breakfast we shortly visit this Gompa, we’ll understand its history, arts, crafts and spiritual importance. Today we will drive through two high passes with great views and after 4-5 hours of drive via Lhatse we arrive at Xegar. Along the way, we visit Sakya Monastery, a castle-shaped place in which lots of historic articles exhibited. We’ll have lunch and drive over Pang la (5150 M) towards the main Himalayan region from where mountains like Makalu, Shishapangma, Mt. Everest, etc are viewed. How many days required for Mt. Kailash Yatra?
A. Holy Mt. Kailash yatra require - 13 days by Toyota Landcruiser 4500 cc or Luxury Bus - 10 days by Helicopter via Nepalganj.
How we will be doing 13 days Yatra?
14 days Kailash Yatra by 4500 cc Toyota Landcruiser or Luxury Bus - Kathmandu to Kodari (Nepal - Tibet border) tourist bus will be used. In Tibet, 4500 CC Toyota Landcruiser or Luxury Bus will be used. Routing Kathmandu - Zhyagmu - Nyalam - Saga -Paryang -Mansarovar - Darchen - Dirapuk - Zuthulpuk - Darchen - Paryang - Saga -Nyalam - Kathmandu. 10 days Kailash Yatra by Helicopter - Kathmandu - Nepalganj - Simikot - Hilsa (by helicopter) - Taklakot - Mansarovar - Darchen - Dirapuk - Zuthulpuk - Darchen - Mansarovar - Taklakot - Hilsa - Simikot (by helicopter) - Nepalganj - Kathmandu. In how many days would I finish Mt. Kailash Parikarma and how long it is?
Holy Kailash parikrama is approx 52 km trek to be completed in 2 nights / 3 Days. Night camping in Dirapuk & Zuthul-puk.
What is the best time to travel?
Holy Mt. Kailash yatra starts in the last week of April till September every year.
What is Land cruiser?
Land cruiser is a four-wheel driven Japanese vehicle. We allow a maximum of four people in one Land cruiser + 1 driver + 1 Sherpa (staff).
How many days would I need to hire the Yak / Horse and a Porter during the whole trip and how much it costs?
If you do not want to trek you can hire horse/pony for parikrama. Parikarma (kora) that is for 3 days.
What are the hidden charges i.e. to be paid direct?
Additional expenses incurred due to delay, Accidents, Natural disaster & Political action. The following are the charges not included during the yatra. - Yak and Yak man cost - Rescue or evacuation if need, Tibet visa separation cost - Travel insurance, drinks, laundry, Telephone/fax, Additional transportation cost. - If you are not going for Kailash Parikrama due to any reason and staying back at Darchen for three days, you have to pay extra INR 1500 per day for accommodation and food in Darchen.
How much amount we should carry and in what form whether travelers cheque, Doller or Tibetian cash or Indian Rupees
In Kathmandu, you may use USD OR Indian Currency. For Tibet, you will need the Chinese Yuan only. for 11 days in Tibet, we suggest you carry approx Yuan 2000-2500 Per Person. Which you may need for emergencies and to pay for a horse during Kailash Parikrama. Balance (unused Yuan) may be exchanged again on the way back. INR 100 = NPR 160 INR 100 = CNY 9.5 (CHINESE YUAN) You can exchange Yuan in Kathmandu or in Tibet border. Most of the yatri exchange their currency in the Nepal-Tibet border.
How about accommodation facilities etc. ?
3/4 Star hotel accommodation in Kathmandu and guest house in Tibet. However, camping accommodation will be provided during the parikrama of Holy Kailash.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellation Policy: 30 days before departure date, INR 15,000 will be charged as cancellation. 15 days before departure date, INR 25,000 will be charged as cancellation. 07 days before departure date, No refund allowed.
Do you provide Equipment?
We Provide: Camping Equipment (to be returned at the end) Sleeping bags (down with inside extra cover), (to be returned at the end) Jacket (down) (to be returned at the end) Oxygen Back-up & Gaymo Bag.
What medical reports do I need to carry?
No medical report is required but we insist every yatri consult their doctor before traveling to high altitude. Also, every yatri must declare their physical status and specify if they are allergic to any medicine.
Besides the passport what other official documents will I need on the yatra?
You need to carry:- Valid Passport with 4 passport size photographs Medical Insurance Policy. (Not compulsory)
Is it essential or good to commence the tour on a full moon day?
You can commence your yatra any day. Some people prefer to reach at Mansarovar or Kailash on full moon day.
Can we take children with age group of 6 and 10 years?
Yes, you can take children (physically normal) along with you but at your own risk because you know your child better.
What are the precautions taken for the children?
You have to take the same precautions as you are taking for yourself.
Will one oxygen cylinder be sufficient for four of us?
Our team will provide an oxygen cylinder in an emergency. Usually, the oxygen cylinder is not required. However, some yatri prefer to carry their own handy oxygen cylinders. You may buy a small portable cylinder in Tibet. It may cost approx. Yuan 15-20 Per cylinder.
hat will be the charges for children?
Yatra cost is the same for children.
ill your cook be traveling with us during the entire trip. Will he be carrying stove and utensils can he make vegetarian items.
Yes, cooks will be traveling with you during the entire trip. They will carry all the necessary cooking items with them and you will get only vegetarian food during the yatra.
Can we prescribe the menu for cooking on daily basis?
es, you may discuss and suggest your choice. If possible, and other yatris agree our cook will not mind cooking your choice of food.
Is VISA cost included in the total tour cost?
Yes, the cost of Tibet Visa is included. However, the cost of a Nepal visa is not included (applicable for foreign nationals only). Indian passport holders do not need Nepal Visa.
Can we find some helpers to help our kids/luggage during the trekking part of the journey? Will they be available there or do we have to take them with us.
Yes, you can get helpers/porters for your kids/luggage, the charge may be approx Yuan 250 per day.
What will be the arrangement in case there is any break down of vehicle (Land Cruiser)?
We will send another Vehicle (Land Cruiser).
Are there any frequent landslides on the way?
No, it depends on the weather.
Is good sanitation available during the camping days?
Yes, toilet tents may be made available.
Availability of drinking water on the yatra?
Water bottles / pure natural mineral water, or water purification tablets may be made available.
Where we can find facial cream and all other items?
You can buy everything in Kathmandu, Nepal. Our executive will guide/help you.
Can I bring video camera and digital camera? Weather we will have possibility to recharge the batteries or is there any restrictions to use these things.
Yes, you can bring a camera & videos along with you. The voltage in Tibet is 220V. Can be re-charge most of the places but not during 3 days parikrama. We suggest traveling with extra batteries.
What about communication possibilities?
Chinese SIM Cards are available at Zangmu / Nyalam. one can easily buy the SIM 50 /100 Yuan. OR if you are carrying your own mobile with an international roaming facility you can use it as well.
Is there any Pundit available?
No, you have to bring your Pundit.
When we should book the Holy Mt. Kailash Yatra and how to book?
You should book this yatra a minimum of 45 days in advance. To book, we need a copy of the passport (1st page only) with a 25% advance deposit.
Is it necessary to send our document with advance 45 days before?
Yes, we must send a copy of your passport to China for approval.
How can we make advance payment?
We have the following payment options: Pay online through credit card OR Swift transfer to OUR BANK account. Contact us for our bank details. Pay by credit card. Send a Demand Draft by courier.
If we are not feeling comfortable or physically fit for parikarma then what we will do.
In such a case, you must stay back in Darchen for 3 days.
What type of medical test is required for this trip?

What we must carry?
Be sure you have the needy items! Warm clothes, water bottle, water purification tabs, suntan lotion utility knife, dusk musk, medicine for headaches, fever, colds, stomach disorders and Diamox (unless you are allergic to sulpha drugs) for altitude sickness, It is also good to carry dry fruit, juice powder, breads, candy, canned or packed food, nuts, pickles and biscuits. * if you do not have any of the above items, our executive will assist you in Kathmandu.
Do you have any age restriction?
No, we do not have any age restrictions. If you are physically fit you may travel but sometimes the Chinese Authority does not permit people aged 65 or above. We insist everyone consult with their doctor and must mention that you are going to high altitude. Many of old aged people traveled with us and have successfully done the parikrama.
