Phortse

Phortse is a unique Sherpa settlement at an altitude of 3,840m in the Khumbu region. This village is off the trail from the main Everest Circuit trekking trail. That is why this village is untouched and unexplored. If the trekkers want to feel the authentic Sherpa tradition, culture and lifestyle, a day at Phortse will rewarding.

Phortse is a being developed as the model ecotourism village within Khumbu Region of Sagarmatha National Park. This is in order to let the trekker have experience of actual Sherpa’s culture with Mt Everest seeing. This village offers wonderful Mountain View and wildlife experience to the trekkers as the village is surrounded by birch and juniper trees. Musk deer roams within the areas along with another animal like Himalayan Thar, Bear, peacock and rarely snow leopard is also spotted.
