Phewa Lake

Phewa Lake is a freshwater lake in the Pokhara City. This lake lies at an altitude of 742m. Phewa lake is the stream-fed lake and a dam regulated the water volume of the lake. The lake is the second largest lake in Nepal after Rara Lake. It is the most popular and the most visited lake in Nepal. The unique feature of the lake is the existence of a small island at its centre where Tal Barahi temple is located.

Phewa Lake is famous for the beautiful reflection of Mt Machhapuchhre and Annapurna series at its surface. The Mt Machhapuchhre is just 28 km from the lake (linear distance).
