Mt Machhapuchhre

Machhapuchhre is a beautiful mountain in the Annapurna Series of north-central Nepal. The altitude of this mountain is 6993m from the sea level. It is the main mountain in the Annapurna Himalayas which form the eastern boundary of Annapurna Sanctuary. Its double summit resembles the tail of the fish, which is why it also called Mt Fishtail. The local people revered this mountain as the scared abode of Lord Shiva. This mountain off limit to climb because of this belief.
