Manakamana
Manakamana is a word derived from “Mana” mean heart and “Kamana” mean wish. So basically Manakama is a goddess residing at Gorkha district who is believed to fulfill every wish of the devotee. Every year thousands of pilgrims visit this pious land to offer their homage and get their wishes fulfilled. Especially during Dashain, the goddess is highly venerated as Durga Bhawani. You will find people queuing more than a kilometer during festival time. There is a tradition of sacrificing animals to satisfy the Goddess. One can reach the temple by riding cable car which is installed in between Kurintar and the temple.
