Gorakshep

Gorakshep is a final stopover point for Everest Base Camp Trek. There is a small settlement of Sherpa people with lodging facilities. High-speed satellite internet facilities are also available for the guest who want to use on a certain charge. Most of the trekkers going for Everest Base Camp Trek have to take rest at Gorakshep and stay overnight because their trekking permit won’t allow them to stay overnight at the Base camp. So this is the hubbub center for the trekkers, sherpas and porters during high season.

Gorakshep is near to Kala Patthar which offers the best views of Mt Everest. Many trekkers start their hike to Kala Patthar to view the majestic view of Mt Everest along with other peaks like Lobuche, Nuptse, Changtse etc. This is the highest point trekkers can go with the trekking permit i.e. 5550m. From Gorakshep, trekkers can continue their trail to Gokyo and other destinations or return retracing the same path.
