Gokyo Ri

Gokyo Ri is a high peak at Khumbu region at an altitude of 5357m to the west side of Ngozumpa Glacier – the largest glacier of Nepal.  At the foothill of Gokyo, there is a small settlement of Sherpa people called Gokyo valley – the highest settlement in the world.  The Gokyo valley, Gokyo Lake and Gokyo Ri are the major attraction for the trekkers trekking to Everest Region via Gokyo. The best view from the top of Gokyo Ri is the Gokyo valley below alongside the Gokyo Lake. It is possible to see four 8000m above mountains from the summit. They are Mt Everest, Lhotse, Makalu and Cho Oyu.

Gokyo Ri is considered as the best point in the Khumbu Region for those photographers who want to get the perfect backdrop of highest mountain series. The Gokyo valley below and the Gokyo Lake by its side while the giants at the backdrop standing aloft, the best composition need for the perfect shot. That is why the trek to Gokyo Ri, Gokyo Valley and Gokyo lake is gaining popularity as spectacular trek combined with mountain lifestyle and culture.
