Dole
Dole is a small village in the Khumbu Region. It lies at an altitude of 4038m from the sea level. It is situated to the north of Khumjung and west of Machhermo, the famous settlement in Khumbu. It is the stopping point for the trekkers going for Gokyo trek or while passing through Cho La route. There are few guesthouses providing trekkers lodging facilities and modern amenities. It is an important destination to support tourism in Nepal.
From Khumjung, it takes about 5-6 hours to reach Dole. The trail continues to Mong La which is perched on Mt Khumbila. This is the best point to view the beautiful snowcapped mountains and valley. There is a chorten at the center of the village. The trail continues through forest, bridges and river and reaches Dole. From Dole, the trail continues to Machhermo, which is full of bushy trails, summer settlements of Sherpas, Dudh Koshi River and many mountains en route.
