Bandipur

Bandipur is a hilltop settlement in Tanahun District. This place has been able to preserve its unique old aged flavor of Newari Community. It’s some hours’ drive from Dumre Bazaar and has the best hiking trail through the pristine forest. It has been able to intact it’s rugged and old age vibrancy. If you love experiencing the Newari flavor and be away from day to day bothersome life, Bandipur is the perfect retreat. You can see the series of green hills and the while lines of mountains on the horizon.

Bandipur is the traditional trading route between Tibet and India. This place was well flourished and well developed but due to the construction of Prithvi Highway, the trading declined yet it could maintain its charm among the local traders. The major attraction of this beautiful destination is the view of the Himalayas including Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Ganesh, Manaslu, Langtang Himal etc. You can also see the Marsyandi Valley and the Gorkha village along with the Manakamana Temple on a clear day. Being relatively easily accessed by road, many people visit to spend their weekends and holidays. Apart from Bandipur itself, there are some other places like Bindyabashini Temple, Thani Mai, Tindhara, Raniban, Siddha Cave (trekking), Ramkot village (hike).
