Machhermo
Machhermo is a small settlement in the Khumbu Region. It lies at an altitude of 4470m from sea level. Machhermo stands north of Dole and South of Gokyo valley. It lies in Dudh Koshi River valley and just below the terminal moraine of Ngozumpa glacier, the longest glacier in the Himalayas.
Machhermo is one of the stopping point for Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo. This place has few guesthouses with modern amenities and has been providing services to Nepali and foreigner trekkers during trekking season. Dole to Macchermo is 4-5 hours walk and the barren trails opened up for an incredible view of snowcapped mountains situated below the deep blue sky. On the way, you will see an awesome view of Mt Cho Oyu, Cholatse, Taboche etc. From Machhermo, we can continue the trek to Gokyo valley.
