This is a journey of your lifetime to the base of the epic highest mountain of the world, Mt. Everest (8848 M). It provides an amazing adventure with sightseeing of the Roof of the world with Himalayan views with Mt. Everest.
Your Tibet Culture with Everest Base Camp travel begins from Kathmandu and the next day sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhu, Pashupati and Boudhanath area, Patan, Bhaktapur area, etc are major heritage spots of Kathmandu valley. Then you will have one hour 15 min flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa and visit Potala Palace, Norbulingka Palace, several monasteries, Tibet museums, etc and further drive to Gyantse, Shigatse, and trek to Everest Base camp. The main highlight of this trip is experiencing Tibet and “Land of Gods” with its thousand years old historical sites, high passes and stunning vistas of Mountains peaks, Tibetan villages, remote areas, culture, traditions and lifestyle of Tibet. This is your Kathmandu sightseeing day and preparation day too. You will visit the famous Pashupatinath Temple (Lord Shiva’s) Temple, Swayambunath temple, Bhaktapur Durbar square and other beautiful places of Kathmandu. Today is your sightseeing day at Tibet so after breakfast, we drive out and visit Potala Palace, Norbulingka Park and Tibet Museum. PotalaPalace: This huge palace was the private quarters of the Dalai Lama which was built in the 17th century. It offers great views of the entire city and houses inside which numerous grand room and chapels were built. Norbulingka Summer Palace: It used to be the summer place of Dalai Lama. It is considered as the largest man-made garden in Tibet. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site represents a unique Tibetan architectural presentation. Tibet Museum: Your final visit for today will be at the Tibet Museum. This museum has a permanent collection of thousands of artefacts associated with the ancient Tibet and its cultural history. Drive back to the hotel and Overnight in Hotel, Lhasa.

Today will be another busy day for you as you will be taken to some of the historical sites at Tibet. The first visit will be at Ganden monastery situated at the top of Wangbur Mountain (3800 M) and explore its arts, sculptures and Murals. Then visit Drayerpa Cave in the down valley. There are several silent caves, more than 25, where Dalai Lama used to Meditate. Visit SeraMonastery (Second Largest Monastery at Tibet), Jokhang temple (Buddhist Temple) and Drepung monastery- the largest monastery in Tibet built in the 14th century. Lastly, we will drive to Barkhor Bazaar which is the nerve centre of Lhasa. Overnight at Hotel, Lhasa.

Today will be our full day drive to Gyantse. Our drive gets adventurous as we pass through Kamba La pass (4794 M) and Karo La (5010 M) with the spectacular scenery of Yamdrok Tso Lake. You will Rest at Guesthouse in Gyantse.

Gyantse lies 264 Km southwest of Lhasa which lies on the northern bank of NyangChuRiver and bears historical importance. During the 15th century, it used to be the capital of a small kingdom and yet retains deep Tibetan character. The principle structures consist of a castle on a ridge overlooking the town and a walled monastic complex. Today will be our busy day as you visit Gyantse Monastery (PekhorChodeMonastery) and Stupa followed by 5 hours trek to Shigatse. Overnight Guesthouse in Shigatse.

Today we will drive through two high passes with great views and after 4-5 hours of drive via Lhatse we arrive at Xegar. Along the way, we visit Sakya Monastery, a castle-shaped place in which lots of historic articles exhibited. We’ll have lunch and drive over Pang la (5150 M) towards the main Himalayan region from where mountains like Makalu, Shishapangma, Mt. Everest, etc are viewed. Finally, we arrive at Rongbuk alley and overnight stay at the guesthouse.

After breakfast, you will visit Rongbuk Monastery and get inspired by its history as well as spiritual importance. Then we gear up and head for Everest Base Camp. After 3 hours of hike, we finally arrive at Everest Base camp from where we will experience the northern face of Mount Everest which looks stunning. We’ll take photos and get good memories of here, a bit rest too and after having lunch we head back to Tingri which is a small Tibetan town. Overnight at Hotel.

Today will be our final day of the tour as we move along Lalung La pass (5050 M) and the further drive takes us to Zhangmu. After immigration and customs procedure at Nepal/China Border at Kodari, then we drive all the way back to Kathmandu. Enjoy several stops and villages.
