Trip Overview
Hiunchuli peak 6441m is a difficult challenging trekking peak in the Annapurna region and it is connected to Annapurna South. Hiunchuli peak is one of the three major trekking peaks within the "Annapurna Sanctuary", to be named by Col. Jimmy Roberts. The mountains of this area are considered sacred by the Gurungs who inhabit the region. The other two peaks within the sanctuary are Tharpu Chuli (Tent Peak) and Singu Chuli (Fluted Peak). Its eastern face overlooks the Modi Khola and guards the entrance to the Annapurna Sanctuary.
This peak is one of the difficult peak climbings in Nepal which can be climbed from both southeast face and northwest face as well. It is not considered as difficult technically but there is always a risk of rock falling. Even though it offers major new route potentials, it has received little attention from mountaineers and is rarely climbed. It was first climbed in 1971 by An American Peace Corps Expedition from the southeast face.

Today you leave Chhomrong this morning and climb up trails to Dovan, you cross small village of Sinuwa Dada and making through beautiful thick Rhododendron forest, Khuldighar and rocky cliff of bamboo you’ll find yourself at Dovan. Then you will headed for Deurali. Along the way you will be enjoying silence jungle and visit a temple within the same jungle. Enjoying some waterfalls and a lake called Hinku you reach at Deurali and have good rest there. Stay overnight at Deurali.
