Sundarijal is a beautiful outskirt village which lies 15 km northeast of Kathmandu city. Sundarijal is easily accessible to the tourist who wants to visit and enjoy their holidays. Her statue is enshrined within the Sundarijal National Park. Yearly, there is a festival in which the devotee of Lord Shiva walk on barefoot from Pashupatinath to this temple and get the holy water. Then walk back to Pashupatinath, to offer the water to Shivalinga. This act is believed to forgive all the sins committed in life. Apart from the religious destination, Sundarijal is a popular destination for local tourist as well as other nationalities. Especially during the weekend, this place is overcrowded with local tourist. Other nationalities start their trek to Chisapani or other destination too.
